Altar Of Sonic Wonders

Interactive & multi instrumental sound installation, Berlin 2015 - 2017

Altar of Sonic Wonders is an interactive and multi-instrumental sound installation, a poetic symphony of sound and sight, hidden in the heart of the forest.

As you wander through the trees, you are drawn to a clearing where five life-size puppets stand, each adorned with a unique array of modified instruments and sound devices. The puppets are obscurely dressed, like strange, ethereal beings from another world. Their faces are obscured by masks, and their bodies are draped in flowing fabrics.

As you approach, the puppets begin to play their instruments, creating a cacophony of sound that is both haunting and beautiful. The air is filled with the chirp of birds, the rustle of leaves, and the roar of the wind, all blended together in a mesmerizing sonic tapestry.

You are invited to join the puppets in their symphony. You can touch their instruments and microphones, experiment with their devices, and create your own soundscapes. As you do, you will become part of the installation, adding your own voice to the chorus of sound.

Altar of Sonic Wonders is a place where you can explore the relationship between sound and nature, between yourself and the natural world around you.
The installation premiered 2016 at Secrets Music and Art Festival in the Berlin Hinterland.
